Worker safety, Cambodia

Stopped at a small shop today to get some supplies. The shop is next to another shop that makes sign boards. A local was busy outside, fastening the material sign to the metal frame with pop rivets. However, he did it using a motorcycle helmet.

Maybe he is afraid of putting the sign on too tight, and the rivets pop out and rivet him. Ha ha ha.

Although then I popped into the local mall, and a shop attendant was standing on and small round table, putting stuff on the top shelve.

Well, I guess that’ll do the job!

Well, unless the rivet goes under the visor past his chin, as most of them here wear only half helmets, not much better than a baseball cap when you land with your chin on the road. But then, it is the difference of spending $5 for a half helmet or $12 or so for a full face helmet.
