Origin of Leo:

Hercules fought a lion that haunted the forests and defeated it. Zeus took the body of the lion and placed it amongst the stars for all to see. The lion is linked to royalty as can be seen from many royal crests and flags.

Leo at a glance:

Leo is the 5th zodiac sign and represents radiant creativity and lighting up the world around them. It is the second fire sign, but unlike the Aries have their powerful energies a little more under control. They however try to show the world they are brave and can do anything, while many a time they try to find the courage to back up their words. They have a need for making their mark in the world and filling their ego. Ambition, power, and self-confidence are but a few of their strengths. Their courage can make them being respected or feared by others, but they love to live life and can be the life of the party. They love powerful directed action. Sitting around waiting is not a thing for them. The time of day means nothing to them, if you are awake its time to have fun and do stuff. They love to lead and expect others to follow. However, they are not cold, sharing and warmth is important to them. Being generally happy, they do tend to swing in extremes when they change their moods. From being extremely happy to very down under and moody. They love enjoyment, satisfaction and harmony. Injustice, oppression and darkness will soon find doing battle with them as they do not easily stand for this. Leo's tend to be very proud. When they blow off steam you will know it, for they are almost as stubborn as a Taurus but just more unpredictable. They dislike meanness and pettiness and would rather overlook anything they find unworthy of their attention. Although big hearted, they normally give all or nothing. If you make their attention, you get all they have to offer; else they prefer not to bother with you. They operate on their own terms and sometimes find it hard to accept gifts from others. They can even go so far as to refuse and offer that is not deemed acceptable to their standards. They stick to their honor and normally pay of a bet if they fail, and they expect others to do the same. Their word is their law and their ego is very important to them. The fastest way to get rid of a Leo is to trample on their ego. They love to be admired and the centre of attention. This is not limited to their physical appearance but also to what they do for others. Do not forget to thank them for doing something for you. Being on a pedestal is natural to them. Often being Natural leaders, they will bring their best trades to the group, but normally prefer to do the tasks without fanfare, but rather like a secure and confidant image. Their home is very important to them and must be proud of where they live or else they will not be happy. They love to cater for people at their homes. They are normally very faithful and will defend family and friends to the death.

Cancer-Leo Cusp

Mood swings galore, this cusp tend to have very volatile personalities and can swing from the fire Leo to the controlling or hiding cancer. They can swing fast in thought and emotion and have the ability to control with the passion of a Leo. However they can come off as shy only to change in front of your eyes to dynamic and active.
They are very assertive and sensitive if they want to be. They need to find more stability in their emotions, actions and moods. They are normally very energetic and exciting to be around and have an ability to overcome challenges. They may tend to focus their energy on mastery of the body and control of its movements
with strength or grace as central theme. They can master physical disciplines easily.

Try and find stability in your activities and moods without loosing your spontaneity while building a calm centre. Let confidence remain at the heart of who you are. Be a little more in the moment and not the past or future. Slow down a bit and pace yourself for the long run.

Leo 1

Leo one are some of the most powerful authority of the zodiac signs. Although they have leadership ability and qualities, they do not normally lead to command, but rather just to be taken seriously and assert themselves. They spend much energy developing themselves
and growing as a person. This greatly increases their abilities and strengths. Their success however then is not always measured in earthly possessions, but how they have grown as a person. They goal can often be very private as one can expect from living in a world where
worth is often measured in material possessions. They pursue their goals with unrelenting drive and tenacity and strive to surpass themselves every time. They tend to stand out in life as a result of their dominance over those around them. They may find that greater result
can often be achieved with less control and dominance over others, but they tend to impose themselves strongly on others weather they intend to or not. They can have difficulty understanding moodiness or negativity as a result of their general positive and forceful nature.
They are not good at dealing with rejection and failure and need to guard against negative thoughts and influences. They are good at making decisions for others and leading. They are more than capable of dealing with challenging demands and situations, but run the risk of
having their private goals and interest being neglected. This can then lead to frustration for them.

Accept people for who they are, and try to be more sensitive and diplomatic when dealing with people. Do not get too caught up in making running other peoples lives that you forget about your own and your own needs and dreams and goals.

Leo 2

A Leo 2 person is very proud and likes to put their strength to the test, normally in a constructive way. They love challenging activities, normally with some element of risk and danger. The journey to them is often more important than the end goal. They rarely give up on a project, having the endurance and will
to see it through to the end. This stubborn determination can be a problem if they have taken on a losing cause or bad situation where they refuse to let go. However, they may come to a sudden realization of their position and could surprise others with their sudden change in direction.
Walking away from all they have worked on for possibly years. Normally very faithful people and very protective, seeing themselves as the protectors of the weak. However, if taken advantage of they could pack up and leave without a moments notice after years in a relationship. They like to rather
side and help the common group than go with the privileged few. They do not like insincere people and may try and avoid them if possible. They have the ability to wait out problems and see a project through even with many disappointments along the way. Although they have the ability to lead, they prefer to
be free and act on their own. They like to be independent but still exert power over over's with few pretensions or fuss.

Try and watch your temper as that can throw you off balance and aid your opponent. Compromise a bit and learn diplomacy as a virtue. Be more open to love and do not be so hard and demanding on yourself. Lighten the expectations you have of others a bit, not every one is as good as you or on your level.

Leo 3

Being born leaders, they have an ability to exert much power and will over others, for good or bad. Even if not actively leading, they may still lead by their examples, ideas and ethics even if they do not know it. They are however not fond of being in the background.
They are emotionally very complex people and have an unpredictable fire within them that can explode and turn dark. They can turn to anger and violence although normally sexually magnetic and attractive. Understanding is key to being a friend of theirs. They can grow oversensitive due to their powerful feelings and can make themselves unhappy
as they may think that they are hated by others. Often heroic and adventurist, they do like to daydream with themselves as the glorious central person. Often finding themselves working on a cause of a high ideal or service. They may be seen as egotist, but is not often the case. They have a high self-confidence and can fall in a trap of thinking they are invulnerable and infallible.
This can cause huge destruction as they become unrealistic in ideas and can isolate themselves.

Tone down your demanding and controlling a bit and look at yourself in the mirror for a change. Look carefully at your goals and your actions and the motivations behind doing them. Try and be a little more peaceful and try and see that admitting weaknesses can result in growth.

Leo-Virgo cusp

This cusp if normally very secretive, but can be extroverts. Even those being secret like to one day just reveal all rather to the shock of others. Good or bad. They have the ability to know when to do what as they have a great sense of timing. They are masters of communication and know when to talk and when not to.
They have an ability to get what they want in very subtle or dramatic ways as they choose. If one way does not work they just switch over to a totally different technique. Good at logical thought but less sensual. They do lack a bit of feeling and this can put them out of touch with their own and others deeper emotions.
Finding a balance between their fiery, energetic and aggressive Leo nature and their rational, meticulous and secretive Virgo nature can be a problem for them. They wish to bring hidden matters out when in a relationship and have discussions on it.

If you hide yourself away you are to blame not the world. Unless you show your talents they will not be know so show more of yourself and who you are like. Take care in not keeping to many secrets and
allow others a space in your heart and life. Share your emotions a bit more with friends and loved ones. Be more open without making yourself venerable.
