New toy

So, after scanning the internet for stores that have the right spec toy available, I walked 15 minutes in the rain and sleet to Grand Central Station. Got there, and after scaring two cops when I asked them directions to the apple store, I finally made it. Cool store, all open plan.

The lady told me that yes they have an IPad mini in stock, but then she could not locate it. After she checked her device, I was told it is in another store on site. Waited 12 minutes, only to be told that it is not there. They will go scan their other available store houses. Me?? Are you not Apple, you should be like, scan, here you go sir. So after another 20 minutes of waiting they finally bring me my toy. I am like, wow, you would think you would have it right here. The lady then replied that no, people do not normally buy this device. iPad mini, 128gb, with cell card. O well, guess I ain’t normal.

So off I went to the local Starbucks, with the two five o’s (police) checking me leave. Now setting up time.

I skip the customers coffee, and get a juice, trying to live more healthy. Got glares from all over ha ha ha. Then when I went to the tables, there was one chair open with a dude having his arm over the chair, blocking it, and trying to look mean. An elderly lady scans me and then jumps from her chair, saying, Would you like this chair. I go, nope, there is a free chair. Then I address the guy, Dude, move over. He swings around in his chair, and you should have seen his face drop when he saw me. Man I tell you, that short cut hair and worn biker jacket still does the trick. Silently he moved away, yelping in the corner.

After getting Skype and the other mandatory apps such as Facebook running, it is off to check into my hotel. Trump international. Awesome place. Got to tell you, you know it is la di da when they send complimentary coffee to the room and the toilet paper is sealed with gold,

Cool place for the next few days. Waiting for my friend Steven to join me later.

Cannot believe how fast one can type on this iPad mini. And it is so light, perfect tool to write books on, while on the go.

Well, I sold my vrx dive computer to pay for the iPad mini. It is not a play thing for me, but a business device that will work very hard to earn its keep. 🙂

I have a bluetooth keyboard that I used with my iPod. The nexus and samsung tablets are cheaper than the iPad. But since I already own a iPod touch with many apps. It is easier and cheap to just get the iPad and transfer the apps. Also, sharing data such as pictures and documents between the two devices as a breeze.

    Hey Pal,
Sounds like it is going well there for you, the Apple store looks nice. Hope you get lots of nice pics while you are there. I loved New York when I was there. It will be quite different when you get to Phoenix as compared to New York, but I think you will enjoy the landscape here.
    Can’t wait to see you!
